You've probably been asked: "What came first? The chicken or the egg?".
You've been probably been tempted to say: "The egg.", only to be responded: "But who layed the egg?"
But of course this won't get you anywhere.
You need to try a different approach, starting from the first animal/bacteria/plant/... who ever inhabited Earth (most probably a bacteria).
Over the years, this bacteria (if it was one) started multiplying again... and again... AND AGAIN...
But of course evolution needs to count here, so maybe some genetic mutations made the bacteria more and more complex, until you could say “hello” to the first water-living animals.
After that, the animals came to land and finally, the ancestor of the chicken was born. This ancestor must have been oviparous, and in some random genetic mutation, this ancestor must have laid a genetically mutated egg, only to come out as...
A CHICKEN!
